New iPhone 5 Photos

We all saw the pictures of the new iPhone, the ones iMore and 9to5Mac posted earlier this year. Now, the Japanese blog, iLab got their hands on new leaked pictures of the new iPhone showing different parts of it.

The next-gen iPhone will probably have 1GB Ram and NFC and 4G LTE internally, relocated front camera, larger screen, smaller dock, thin body design, relocated headphone jack, and a double toned back externally.

What do you think of it?

Draw Your Messages with Grafiti

Grafiti is a new jailbreak tweak that allows you to draw your messages. It is under the BigBoss repo and it coasts $0.99. Unfortunately, this does not work on the iPad.

To use this tweak, you will have to add a new keyboard. To add a second keyboard, go to Settings, General, Keyboard, International Keyboards, Add a New Keyboard. Then select emoji or any other keyboard.
When you start typing, select the whiteboard as the language to start drawing.

As you can see from the picture, there are many things with this tweak. First, the whiteboard or the place where you draw what you want. Then we have the size button to control the size of your brush. Below that we have the RGB to select your color. Finally, On the bottom of the screen, we have the Clear, Undo, Redo, and Done buttons.

When you finish drawing, click Done, then send your drawing. It will be sent as a picture. So if you open it you can save it to your Camera Roll.

Chrome Download Manager

A few months earlier, Google Chrome hit the App Store with a great browsing experience. Since then, Cydia tweaks came to support Chrome. One of these tweaks and probably the most useful one is called Chrome Download Manager. It coasts $3.00 under the ModMyi repo.

Once you enable the tweak from Settings, you can open up Chrome and hold any link that you want to download, and the download option should be there. Click it, and your download should be started. Then you can go to downloads to see your download process or cancel it if you want.

Chrome Download Manager supports the following filetypes:

  1. zip
  2. rar
  3. iso
  4. dmg
  5. ipsw
  6. deb
  7. torrent
  8. mp3
  9. pdf
  10. jpg
  11. avi
  12. doc

The developer promises Notification Center support, so a notification banner pops-up once your download is complete.

The Most Common Words in iOS Apps Titles

As most of you probably know, the App Store now has over 650,000 apps. This huge number of apps makes us wonder what are the most common words in these app's titles? Or at least it made the awesome people at appsfire wonder. So, what is the keyword?

Here is the top 25 words that developers use to name their apps:

1. HD – 27777

2. Lite – 21690

3. Free – 18511

4. iPad – 11313

5. Pro – 9024

6. Guide – 8361

7. Mobile – 7695

8. App – 6142

9. iPhone – 5441

10. Game – 5377

11. Travel – 4851

12. Radio – 4633

13. World – 4504

14. Map – 4351

15. Dictionary – 4220

16. Edition – 4198

17. Calculator – 4164

18. Kids – 3852

19. English – 3680

20. News – 3611

21. Book – 3254

22. Magazine – 3009

23. Photo – 2957

24. Puzzle – 2835

25. Music – 2764

Not surprising for me. "HD" is a great word to describe the "iPad" apps. Great developers use that word such as Angry Birds and Tiny Wings, etc. Plus, it is also a good marketing word. Who doesn't get attracted to the word "HD"?

Make your Screenshots iPhone-Framed with PreviewMaker

PreviewMaker is a jailbreak creation that allows you to make your screenshots in the iPhone frame. It coasts $1.99 under the ModMyi repo.

Once you open up the application, load your screenshot, and PreviewMaker will put it under the iPhone frame, either the white or the black one. Then save it, share it, or upload it to ImageShack.
NOTE: This also works in landscape mode.

This tweak is a very useful, especially for bloggers and reviewers. You don't need to put your screenshots to Photoshop to put the iPhone frame on it. All you need is to get your screenshot to this application and it will be automatically framed.

5th Generation iPod Touch Rumors

The iPod Touch 4g was released on September 2010. Since then, we never saw any major update to any of the iPods. So it is possible that Apple will update the device this fall.

Rumors showed that the 5th generation iPod Touch will have an all new design using the in-cell touch display technology. The same one that will probably show up on the next iPhone.

Macotakara reports that Apple made the iPod's display bigger, from 3.5 to 4 inches. While the other specs should be the same as the iPhone 4s's.

iOS, The Most Effective Mobile Advertising Platform

According to the first edition of Opera’s State of Mobile Advertising report, Apple’s iOS platform average the highest effect cost per mille (eCPM) of $2.85. Second in place was the Android platform with an eCPM of $2.10, with others trailing by below half the eCPM.

As both the Android and the iOS platform dominate the market, other platforms such as RIM’s BlackBerry and Nokia’s Symbian OS are left far behind with $0.64 eCPM and $0.59 eCPM, respectively. The Windows Phone platform came in surprisingly last with an eCPM of $0.20. The results overall aren’t much of a surprise though given the amount of market share owned by the two top mobile platforms, which equated to a combined 83% of the sector in the previous quarter.
